This ballet was a modern influence for 20th century ballet. The first plotless or abstract ballet performed in one act! Known for “pure dance” that carries a piece rather than an established storyline. The premises is a lone male (“poet”) surrounded by Sylphs, dancing in the moonlight. Originally choreographed by Michael Fokine.
