Brentwood Townend

Brentwood J. Townend first learned the art of ballet from his mother and Liz Bevilacqua at Dussich Dance Studio before maturing his technique through many years of training with prolific New York City ballet masters, including Nancy Bielski, Mignon Furman, David Howard, Brian Loftus, Francois Perron, and Alexander Tressor. In 2019, he received his BFA in Dance Performance with a minor in Creative Writing from the University of South Florida (USF), summa cum laude. In addition to an impressive decade-long performance repertoire that includes lead roles in several classical ballets – most notably Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Paquita, and Snow White – as well as numerous neoclassical works, he has also choreographed dance works that have been presented at USF and at multiple venues in Paris, France.

During his current tenure as Assistant Artistic Director for Brandon Ballet, Brentwood has staged renditions of Cinderella, La Bayadere, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake that have paid homage to the classical repertoire while infusing his own niche for cinematic flair and dramatism. He has also choreographed and written an original ballet, The Iron Flower, created in conjunction with acclaimed composer Damien Simon. Brentwood would like to thank his wife and forever dance partner, Hannah, and their two sons, Zephaniah and Moses, for their precious support.
