Audition Prerequisites
Brandon Ballet offers a distinctive opportunity for dancers at a stage of technical advancement proportionate to their age to immerse themselves deeper into classical ballet. Utilizing a twofold method consisting of rigorous training and development of technical skills, as well as a nurturing of artistic sensibilities through performance of iconic works from the classical repertory, dancers will develop a wide range of artistry and movement aesthetic that will prepare them for professional pursuits in the dance field and beyond.
Audition Day Schedule
Intermediate Dancer 12 & Under
11:30a – 1:00pm
Advanced and Pre-Professional Dancers 12 and above

Audition Prerequisites
- Dancer possesses an elementary understanding of ballet fundamentals, including but not limited to: positions, coordination, proper placement, weight shifting, flexibility, rhythm/musicality, carriage of arms and overall posture, and clean presentation of steps at the barre and in the center.
- – Dancer has been introduced to pointework and has initial understanding of proper foot/ankle articulation
- – Dancer demonstrates a willingness to express themselves artistically, showing glimpses of creativity and sincerity in their execution of ballet technique and choreography.
- – Dancer possesses a discipline of character, exuding respect and poise to superiors and colleagues alike.
Advanced Dancers
Audition Prerequisites
- Dancer possesses an advanced understanding of ballet technique, with a comprehensive training that includes thoroughness of footwork/placement through positions, full-bodied/spatial awareness, proper use of specific anatomical initiations, correct opposition and weight shifting, versatility in movement, ability to work with complex musicality, and a dynamic presentation of steps at the barre and in the center.
- – Dancer has extensive understanding of pointework and is capable of moving with both strength and softness when en pointe
- – Dancer demonstrates an artistic expression that authentically reflects their personality, and is capable of conveying a wide range of emotions through their execution of ballet technique and choreography.
- – Dancer possesses a maturity in conduct, reflected in their respect for superiors and colleagues, as well as their ability to work effectively and efficiently within individualistic and communal contexts
